Pooja Pusthaka Bhandara

Our shop, Pooja Pusthaka Bhandara, is tucked away in M.C. Lay-out. Specifically, we are at 618 on the 19th cross, near the 22nd Main Avenue Road. It is a residential area, so it is usually a bit quieter here compared to the main market roads. We have been serving the people in this layout for many years now. The shop is full of all kinds of books, especially those needed for local schools and colleges. We also keep a good selection of religious books and calendars, which the older residents often come in to buy. The interior is a bit cramped because we keep adding more shelves every time we get new stock. You might have to squeeze past a stack of notebooks to get to the back. There is a small desk where I sit to do the accounts and talk to whoever walks in. We don't have air conditioning, but the big tree outside provides some shade during the middle of the day. The neighbors often stop by just to chat for a few minutes while they are out on their daily walk. It is a friendly place where nobody is in too much of a hurry. We know which students are studying for which exams and try to keep the right guides in stock for them. It is a simple way to make a living, and we enjoy being part of the community here every day.
