Pageturners Book Store

Our shop, Pageturners Book Store, is inside Kannan Buildings on Central Street. It is just off MG Road, so it is right in the heart of things, but the building itself is a bit quieter. We are at number 89. The space isn't huge, but we pack a lot of books into every corner. There are stacks on the floor and some on the windowsills too. It smells like old paper in here, which I guess most book places do. We have a few old chairs if someone needs to sit for a minute, though they aren't very comfortable. The windows look out onto the street, but they’re usually blocked by more books. We don't have a computer system that tells us exactly where everything is; we just sort of know the sections by heart. Central Street can get very busy on weekends, so we see a lot of different faces then. During the week, it's mostly just the same few people who work in the nearby offices. We don't have a website or any of that. If you want to see what we have, you just have to come in and look through the shelves yourself. It’s a bit disorganized at times, but that is just how we like it. We have a small radio that plays in the background to keep us company while we wait for the next customer.
