Neethu Books

You can find Neethu Books right across from the government school on N S S Road in Koramangala 8th Block. It is a noisy spot because the kids are always outside during their lunch breaks. We have stacks of books everywhere in this little room of ours. Sometimes it is hard to find a specific title because things get moved around by people who are just browsing through the shelves. I spend a lot of my time dusting the top sections where no one reaches. The light isn't great in the back corner, so I usually keep a small torch handy just in case. It is mostly just me and one other person helping out during the peak hours after school lets out. We get a lot of parents coming in for notebooks and pens and things for their children. The floor is made of old tiles that have seen better days. We don't really have a big sign out front, but people know where we are because of the blue door. On rainy days, it smells like old paper in here, which is actually quite nice to me. We have a small wooden bench outside where I sit when the shop is empty. There is a lot of traffic on the main road, so it never stays quiet for long. We keep things simple and don't try to act like those big fancy stores. It's just books and stationery and a lot of familiar faces here in Koramangala.
