Nanda Book Center

If you know Avenue Road, you know how crowded it gets with all the book shops and people. Nanda Book Center is right in the middle of that at 608 SVG Plaza. We are actually located in the cellar, right next to the Rice Memorial Church. It’s a bit of a squeeze getting down here sometimes because the pavement outside is always full of vendors and shoppers. We have been in the book business for a long time. Our shop is packed with titles from the floor all the way to the ceiling. Since we are in the basement, it stays a bit cooler down here, which is nice during the summer months. We mostly focus on academic books and various competitive exam guides. That's what most people come to Avenue Road to find. We don't have a lot of space for people to just stand around browsing, so we usually just ask what you're looking for and find it in the stacks. It’s a very fast-paced environment. We deal with lots of wholesalers and individual students every single day. The noise from the street carries down a bit, but we don't mind it. It's just the energy of the market. We aren't a fancy place with coffee or chairs to sit in. We just sell books at a fair rate. Sometimes the piles get a bit high and we have to move things around to find things. If you are on Avenue Road, stop by.
