Nalwad Book Distributors is situated at 79 Avenue Road. If you know anything about this area, you know it’s one of the busiest places for books. The street is always packed with people, carts, and vehicles moving around. Our shop is right in the middle of all that chaos. We focus mostly on distribution, so we have a lot of boxes moving in and out every single day. It’s a loud and hectic place to work, but we’ve grown to love the energy of Avenue Road. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most of our space is used for storing books and packing orders for other shops. We’ve been here for years and have seen the street change quite a bit, though it’s always remained the heart of the book trade. We spend our days answering the phone and making sure the right books get to the right places. It’s easy to get lost in the piles of paper and cardboard. We don't use any high-tech sorting machines, just our hands and a bit of common sense. Sometimes the delivery trucks can't get close because of the traffic, so we have to carry things quite a distance. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, we are usually pretty tired. But it’s a good kind of tired. We are just a small part of the big network of sellers on Avenue Road.
