Modern Book Centre

You can find us in the Sampath Lodge Building, right by Panika Bridge. We are directly opposite Ramesh Pao bhajee on Avenue Road, which is a good landmark if you get lost. The smell of the food from across the street usually wafts in during the afternoons. Our shop, number 591, is often a bit crowded with boxes because we get a lot of stuff coming in and going out. It is a bit of an old building, so the floors are a little uneven and the walls could probably use some new paint. We don't mind it much though. It has character. Most of the day here at Modern Book Centre is spent checking lists and making sure we have what people are looking for. The bridge nearby makes the whole place shake a little when heavy trucks go over it, but we have gotten used to it by now. It is a busy part of town, so there is always someone coming in or some noise from the street. We keep the books stacked as neatly as we can, but on busy days, things tend to get a bit shuffled. It is just a regular shop where we do our work without much fuss. If you are walking down Avenue Road, you will see our sign eventually. We are usually here from early morning until the sun goes down, just keeping things moving.
