Megha Book Center

We have been here at Megha Book Center for a long time now. The shop is located in Jayarama Complex on Nagarvel Hanuman Road, right where the traffic picks up near Rakhial Avenue Road. It is not a very big place, but we manage to keep a lot of things on the shelves. Most days start early when we open the shutters and try to organize whatever came in the day before. You will mostly see me or my brother behind the counter. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It is just books and stationery piled up where they fit. Sometimes the dust gets on things because the road outside is always busy with trucks and rickshaws going past. People from the neighborhood stop by for school books or just to see what is new. We try to keep track of what the local kids need for their classes. It gets a bit crowded in the afternoons when school lets out. The light in the back of the shop is a bit dim, so you might have to look closely at the spines to find what you want. We are used to the noise from the street. It is just how things are here in this part of town. If you need something specific, we usually know where it is tucked away even if it doesn't look organized to someone walking in for the first time. We just keep doing our work every day.
