Our factory is down at 25 2nd Cross, on K V Temple Street in Sultanpet. If you know Sultanpet, you know how tight the streets are and how hard it is to move around during the day. We are tucked away in one of those narrow lanes. Inside, we have machines for cutting paper and binding books. It’s always a bit messy with stacks of cardboard and bundles of paper waiting to be processed. The air always smells like paper and that specific glue we use for the spines. We have a small team of workers who have been doing this for a long time. They know the machines better than anyone. We mostly do bulk work for other businesses or schools. It’s loud when everything is running at once, and we usually have the front shutter halfway down to keep the dust out. There’s no lobby or anything, just the work floor and a small corner with a desk where we keep the ledger. We spend our days coordinating with the delivery boys who have to navigate their carts through the crowded streets outside. It’s hard work and the hours can be long during the busy season. We’ve been in this spot for quite a few years and we’ve seen the street change quite a bit. It’s just a regular manufacturing setup in a busy part of the city. We don't even have a proper sign, just the number.
