Maruthi Book Depot

We are located at 1795 A Cross, right on 26th Main in Jayanagar. This neighborhood has changed a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed in this same spot. It’s a small shop packed with all the usual things like pens, pencils, and school textbooks. We have customers who used to come here as kids and now they bring their own children to buy notebooks. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, so we have to use a wooden ladder to reach the stuff on top. It’s a bit cramped inside, especially during the start of the school term when everyone needs their supplies at once. We keep the shop open late most evenings because that’s when people get off work. The light inside is a bit dim, and the wooden counter is worn smooth from years of people leaning on it. We don't really do anything fancy with the window display; it’s just whatever we have in stock at the moment. You might find us sitting on a stool near the door when it’s quiet, just watching the people walk by on 26th Main. It’s a simple business. We try to keep the popular books in stock so people don't have to wait. If we don't have something, we usually know where to find it. Just a local shop for the neighborhood. There is usually a stack of daily newspapers near the entrance for the regulars.
