Malleshwaram Book Depo

Malleshwaram Book Depo is tucked into the Radha Building on 5th Cross. Malleshwaram has those nice old trees and we are right in the middle of it. The shop isn't huge but we cram a lot in. We’ve got shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. If you need something from the top, we have to get the old wooden ladder out. It’s a bit shaky so we have to be careful when we climb up there. Sometimes people just stand in the aisles reading for an hour. We don’t mind much as long as they don’t block the way for others. It gets a bit dusty because of all the old paper. We spend a lot of time dusting but it never really goes away. The 5th cross is a bit quieter than the main road which is nice. Most of our regulars are from the houses nearby. They’ve been coming here since they were kids. Now they bring their own kids for school books. We have a small desk where we sit and keep the accounts. It’s a simple setup. Nothing is computerized really, we just know where things are from memory. The sun hits the front window in the afternoon and makes it quite warm inside. We usually have the fan going full speed then. It’s a peaceful spot to spend the day even when it gets a little bit crowded with students.
