Gururaj Books

Gururaj Books is tucked away at 156 Survey No 321/A on Laxmi Road in Kengeri. It’s a bit of a quiet area compared to the main city, which we actually prefer. We have been selling books out of this location for several years. The shop is filled with rows of books covering all sorts of topics. We don't have a big sign out front, just a simple one that lets people know we are here. Most of our customers are locals who live nearby and have been coming to us since they were children. It’s nice to see families grow up over time. We keep a lot of old stock that you might not find in the bigger stores. Sometimes the dust gets on the shelves, so we spend a lot of our mornings cleaning and dusting. It’s a never-ending job. We don’t have a computer system to track everything; we just remember where things are. Kengeri is a nice place to work, and Laxmi Road has its own charm. We open up the shutters every morning around nine and stay until the street lights come on. There’s no rush here. People take their time browsing through the stacks. We might not have every single new release the day it comes out, but we have plenty of good stuff to read. It’s just a quiet life running a bookshop in this part of town.
