Durga Books Store

Our shop, Durga Books Store, is located in Jayanagar 9th Block. We are right on the 26th Main Road, and if you look across the street, you’ll see the Post Office. That’s usually how we tell people to find us. The exact spot is 40 A Cross. Jayanagar is a great area, but the traffic on the main road can be a bit much during the rush hours. We get a lot of people stopping in on their way to mail something or after they’ve finished their shopping at the market nearby. The shop is full of all kinds of books, from school texts to general reading. We also keep a good supply of pens and paper because there are a lot of offices around here. The counter is usually a bit messy with half-opened boxes and customer requests written on scraps of paper. We don't have a very polished way of doing things. We just try to be helpful when someone walks through the door. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoons, so we have a bit of a faded curtain we pull across. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you’ll usually see the same two or three faces every time you come in. We don't have fancy memberships or anything. You just come in, find what you need, and we settle up at the desk.
