Devi Book House

Devi Book House is located over at 37-4/67 near Mithakhali Six Roads in Prashanth Nagar. It's a corner of the city that stays pretty active throughout the day. We’ve got a lot of books crammed into our space. It’s not the most organized library you’ll ever see, but we know where most things are kept. We sell a bit of everything, from school books to novels people read for fun. The shop is small and the shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, so we often have to use a ladder to reach things. We don’t have a big staff, usually just one or two of us behind the counter. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use flashlights for a bit, but we don't let that stop us. People from around Prashanth Nagar stop by to pick up their daily newspapers or see if anything new has come in. It’s a regular routine for many of them. We don't spend money on advertising. Most of our customers just walk over from the nearby houses. The Mithakhali area can get quite congested, so parking is always a bit of a gamble. We like the pace of life here. It’s steady and we get to talk to a lot of interesting people who love reading as much as we do. It’s just a normal bookshop. We try to keep things simple and helpful for whoever walks through the door.
