Bangalore Book Depo

Down in Kumbarpet, we are right at 14/2 on the Surat Navsari Road. If you find the mosque, you have pretty much found us because we are right next to it. Bangalore Book Depo is a name many people in this area recognize from walking past. We have been selling books here for quite a long time now. The street is usually narrow and full of people moving goods around on carts. We have everything from stationery to standard textbooks for the local students. It’s a practical kind of place with no frills. We don't spend money on advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here when they need something. Sometimes the stock gets a bit mixed up on the shelves, but we find what we need eventually. The counter is usually covered in papers and ledger books because we still like to write things down by hand. It feels more real to us that way. We get a lot of regulars who just stop by to say hello or ask if a new magazine has arrived yet. We don’t have much space for sitting down, so people usually just stand and browse the shelves for a bit. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fan running at full speed near the door. It’s a simple business. We open the shutters in the morning and hope for a good day. It is just about providing books to the local community in Kumbarpet.
