Bangalore Book Center

You can find Bangalore Book Center inside Esteem Mall on the 2nd Main Road in Hebbal. Being in a mall is a bit different from the street shops. We have the air conditioning, which is nice in the summer, but it also feels a bit closed off from the outside world. The shop is organized, but not perfectly. We still have some boxes in the corners that we haven't found a place for yet. People come in here to get away from the noise of the food court or just to kill time while their families are shopping elsewhere. We’ve got a mix of things, some bestsellers and a lot of school textbooks since there are many families living around Hebbal. The carpet is starting to show some wear near the entrance, and the shelves are a bit crowded. We don't have a lot of staff, usually just one or two of us behind the counter. We try to keep things quiet so people can look around in peace. It’s a nice enough spot, though we sometimes miss the chatter of the street. Still, it’s good to be here where it’s clean and dry. We spend our days mostly restocking the shelves and helping people find something to read. It’s a steady pace, and we like the regulars who come in every weekend. We just keep the lights on and the books ready for whoever walks through the mall doors.
