Balepet Book House

Balepet Book House is tucked away at 81 Kilari Road. If you know Balepet, you know it's a very busy place with narrow streets and lots of people. We have been here for many years. The shop is full of all kinds of books, mostly older ones or things you can't find in the big shopping malls anymore. It's a bit of a maze once you get inside. We have wooden shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes you have to climb a small ladder just to get what you want. It's not a polished store with carpets or fancy lights. It's just a place for people who really like the feel of books. We get all sorts of customers coming through. Some are looking for old religious texts, while others want something simple for their kids to read. We don't really do much advertising around town. People find us by word of mouth mostly. The building is old, and the air always smells like paper and ink. That's how a bookshop should be, at least in my opinion. We spend our days sorting through new arrivals and helping people find that one specific title they remember from years ago. It’s a lot of work keeping track of where everything is hidden.
