Arihant Book Centre

Arihant Book Centre is located at number 21 in the Naroda area of Chickpet. If you have ever been to Chickpet, you know how the streets are. It is always moving, always loud, and there is a lot of energy everywhere you look. Our little shop is right in the middle of all that. We have been here for years, watching the neighborhood change around us. The space we have is filled from floor to ceiling. There isn't much room for anything else besides the books. We spend a lot of our time just reaching for things on high shelves or moving stacks so someone can get through. It is a tight fit, but we like it that way. Most people find us because they were already walking through the market. The shop doesn't look like much from the outside, just a door and some signs, but there is a lot going on inside. Sometimes we sit on the small stools near the counter and just talk to whoever comes in. The humidity can get a bit high in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going. It is a very local kind of place. We don't use a lot of technology here; it is mostly just pen and paper and memory. If you are navigating the lanes of Naroda, you will eventually stumble upon us. We stay open as long as the market stays busy. It's a simple life, but it keeps us moving every day. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a break.
