A Maryam Book Centre

A Maryam Book Centre is tucked away behind St. Mary's Church on Rani Sati Marg. We are in Shivaji Nagar at number 41427. It is a busy neighborhood with a lot going on at all hours. Our shop is quite simple and we don't put on any acts. We have shelves full of books and a lot of stationery items for the kids who go to the schools nearby. We try to keep the things people actually use instead of fancy stuff. You won't find anything too expensive or rare here. The floor is just plain cement and the shelves are made of wood we’ve had for many years. It’s a bit cramped when more than three people are inside at once. We know the people who live on this street quite well. We see them every day going to church or the market. Sometimes they stop in just to chat for a minute about the weather. We don't have a big neon sign, just enough so people know what we are when they pass by. It’s a family-run kind of thing. We don't use computers much for the sales, we just use a notebook to keep track of what goes out each day. It works fine for what we do. Sometimes the power goes out in the area and we use a torch to find the right book. That’s just life in Shivaji Nagar. We like being part of the community and helping out with school supplies.
