Simlapal Poultry Farm Private Limited is located at Plot No 30 in Krishnapur. Sujit Kumar Mahapatra is the one who runs things here at his house. Pathardoba is the post office we use in Bankura. We focus on poultry, mostly chickens. It’s a busy job because the birds need looking after every single day. There’s no taking a day off when you have animals to feed. We have a few sheds set up on the land. It’s not a massive industrial farm, just a local business we started. Bankura can get very hot, so we have to make sure the birds stay cool and have enough water. Sujit is always checking on things. We sell to the local markets and some of the nearby towns. People know us around here for being reliable. We don't have a big staff, just a few people from the village who come in to help. We spend a lot of time cleaning and making sure everything is in order. It’s a lot of manual labor. We don't have fancy machines for everything. Sometimes things go wrong, like a bird gets sick or the feed delivery is late, but we handle it. It’s a practical business. We aren't looking to change the world, just want to provide for our families and keep the farm going. Dealing with live animals is hard work but it keeps us on our toes every single morning.
