Bankura is known for its red soil and the heat can get pretty intense during the summer months. We are just a bunch of farmers who realized that we have a better chance if we organize ourselves into a company. It sounds official, but mostly it is just us talking about how to get our produce to the market without losing money. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing department. Our version of business is basically just the work we do every day out in the fields and in the small office area we have. It’s a lot of dusty roads and heavy lifting. We grow what the land allows and try to make a living from it. There are days when the machinery breaks down or the prices at the market drop, and those days are tough. But we’ve lived here all our lives, so we know how to handle it. We’re not looking to become some massive corporation. We just want to keep the farming community in this part of West Bengal stable. It’s practical work for practical people, and we don’t try to make it sound like more than it is. It's just us out here making a go of it.
