You can find us in Room No-01 at Tarapada Garaimishra’s place in Onda. It’s a small room in the Mishra Para neighborhood where we handle all the business for our farmer group. Bankura is a place where people work hard, and we’re no different. We started this producer company because we wanted to have a central spot to organize our farming efforts. Usually, the room is filled with a few of us sitting on plastic chairs, looking over the books or planning the next harvest. We don't have any fancy decorations or air conditioning. It’s just a place to work. We help the members get their paperwork in order, which can be pretty confusing for anyone not used to it. We also try to find better prices for the stuff we need, like fertilizers and tools. It’s a lot of phone calls and talking to people who come by. We aren't doing this to get famous or anything; we just want to make sure the farming families around Onda can stay on their feet. It’s a community effort, really. If one of us has a problem with their crop, we all try to figure out a solution. We don't have a big mission statement, we just try to be useful to each other every day. It’s simple, honest work and that’s plenty for us. We just take things as they come and try to keep moving forward.
