Out here in Vill Ghosh Para, we started Ojha Biofloc Fish Farm Private Limited to try something different with how fish are raised. Canning and the Matla area have a lot of water, but biofloc is a bit more controlled. The farm is part of the household area, specifically under Urmila Ojha’s care. It’s a quiet spot in Purulia, far from the big city noise. We spend our mornings checking the tanks and making sure the water looks right. The fish need a lot of attention, especially when the weather changes. It’s not a clean office job; we get our hands wet and deal with the mud. We use these big tanks to grow the fish in a way that saves space. Some neighbors were curious at first, but now they are used to seeing us working around the GP Matla area. The roads around here can be a bit rough after it rains, which makes moving the fish out to the markets a challenge sometimes. We don't have a marketing team or a fancy website. It’s just family and a couple of local guys helping out. We keep track of everything in a simple notebook. Life moves a bit slower here in West Bengal, and we like it that way. We just want to grow healthy fish and keep the farm running for as long as we can. Every day is a learning process with the tanks, and we just handle the problems as they come up without much fuss.
