We are out here in Gangajalghati, specifically in a place called Shuyabasalachhmanpur. It is basically a group of women from this local area who decided to work together. Malini Besra is the one who helps keep us all organized at her place. Most of our days are spent out in the fields or talking about which seeds we should be planting for the next season. It is not easy work, but doing it as a group really makes a big difference for us. Sometimes the rain does not come when we need it to, and other times there is just too much of it. We share our tools and whatever advice we have because that is just how things get done in this village. It is mostly about farming the land we have and making sure the crops we grow actually get somewhere useful. We meet up pretty often to figure out how to get everything moved to the market. You will find us mostly in the fields or at the house in Shuyabasalachhmanpur. It is a quiet spot, but there is always something to do, whether we are sorting through grain or dealing with the paperwork that we are not always very good at. We started this because we needed a way to work better. It is just us local women trying to make the most of the land. We do not have any fancy office, just our homes and the dirt we work in every day. The 722133 area is where we all grew up and we know the soil.
