Bandwan Annapurna Bangabhumi Farmers Producer Company Limited was started because we wanted to see if we could do more with our harvests by working as a group. Purulia is a beautiful place, but the land can be stubborn. We grow a lot of local staples and try to make sure nothing goes to waste. It’s a community effort, really. We don't have any big corporate backers or anything like that. It’s just us, the local farmers, putting our heads together. We talk about irrigation, seeds, and the prices we get at the local markets. Sometimes we disagree on how things should be run, but that’s just part of being in a group of neighbors. We spend most of our time out in the sun, so the office work is usually done in the evenings when it’s cooler. We don't promise anything grand. We just promise to keep working hard on our land. The name is a bit long, but it reflects who we are and where we come from. Being part of this company gives us a bit of a voice when it comes to selling our grain. It’s just a simple life here in Roladih, and we’re okay with that.
