Routhkhanda Farmersproducer Companylimited is based right in the Joypur block of Bankura district. We work together at Mita Mondal’s place, and Sumanta Betal is also a big part of how we get things done here. It is a very local affair. We all live around Routhkhanda and know the fields like the back of our hands. We aren't some big office from the city. We are just the people who grow the food. Most of our meetings happen sitting around the house or in the shade nearby. We handle the farming business for the local producers in this part of Bankura. It gets very hot here in the summer, but the work doesn't stop. We don’t use any fancy language to describe ourselves. We are just a group of farmers who wanted to have a company of our own. Mita’s house is where we keep the books and talk about the plans for the next season. It is a basic way of living, but it is what we know. If you are in Joypur, you might see us around. We spend our time thinking about the soil and the crops and how to get them to market. It is not a glamorous job, but it is ours. We are just trying to do right by the people in Routhkhanda and keep the company going one day at a time. It’s hard work, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
