Umayappa Family Restaurant

Umayappa Family Restaurant is in the SM Complex over in Thachottukavu, Peyad. We are in the Thiruvananthapuram area, 695573, right near the Ayyappa Temple. Being so close to the temple means we get a lot of families coming in after their visits or during festivals. It is a local place where we serve the kind of food we grew up with and know how to cook well. We aren’t trying to be a five-star hotel, just a reliable spot for a meal for regular people. The restaurant is part of our family’s life, and we spend most of our time here. The kitchen gets hot and the dining area can get pretty loud when it’s full of kids and families, but we like it that way. We do our own shopping for the ingredients every morning to make sure we have what we need for the day's menu. Sometimes we run out of a certain dish because we didn't buy enough at the market, but that's just part of being a small business. We know many of our customers by name because they live right here in Peyad or visit the temple every week. It’s a simple setup with basic tables and chairs that have been here for a while. We just want to make sure people leave with a full stomach and a smile. It’s hard work, but being near the temple gives the place a nice, calm feeling even when we are busy.
