Beriya Restaurant

Beriya Restaurant is situated on Pazhavangadi Street in Thiruvananthapuram. We are inside the RP Days Inn building, right near the Ganapathy Temple. You can often hear the temple bells ringing and see the people coming and going for their prayers. Our street is narrow and usually has a lot of foot traffic. Inside the restaurant, the atmosphere is pretty plain. We have the usual tables and chairs and a small area for the staff to work. We spend our mornings preparing the masalas and getting the rice ready for the lunch crowd. Since we are near a major temple, we see a lot of visitors from out of town who are just looking for a simple meal. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going at full speed. We aren't trying to be a five-star place; we are just a local restaurant where you can get something to eat without any fuss. Sometimes we run out of the daily specials early if there’s a festival at the temple. The staff mostly speaks the local language and we keep things moving as fast as possible. We’ve been at this location for a while, and the neighborhood knows us well. It’s a lot of standing and walking around, but it’s the work we do. We just open the doors every morning and get the stove lit.
