Truffles Bistro

Kuravankonam Junction is a spot in Thiruvananthapuram where you can see the city moving by. Our bistro is right there, near the Kowdiar area, and it’s a small place that we try to keep running smoothly every day. It’s not one of those big restaurants where everything is perfectly polished. We have tables and chairs that might not always match perfectly, and the kitchen is always humming with the sound of things cooking. People from the neighborhood drop in quite a bit. Sometimes it’s just for a coffee or a quick bite to eat while they are out running errands. Thiruvananthapuram has a slower pace than some other cities, and we try to stick to that. We don't like to rush people through their meals. If someone wants to sit with their book for an hour, that’s fine with us. The smells from the kitchen usually drift out toward the street, which sometimes brings in people who weren't even planning on stopping. We handle the cooking ourselves and try to use what we can find locally. It’s a lot of work, and some days are more tiring than others when the lunch rush gets a bit heavy. But overall, it’s a nice way to spend the day, seeing the locals and talking to anyone who walks through the door. It’s just a plain bistro doing what it can in a quiet corner of town. We just keep the coffee hot and the food ready.
