Peppar Restaurant

Peppar Restaurant is up on the 6th floor of the Bhavani Building in Kazhakuttam. Being that high up gives a different feel than being on the ground floor. You can see out over Thiruvananthapuram a bit. Most of our customers come from the offices nearby. Kazhakuttam has changed so much with all the tech buildings going up. We started this place because we saw all these people needing somewhere to eat that wasn't a tiny stall. The elevators in the Bhavani Building can be a bit moody sometimes, so apologies if you have to wait. We just focus on getting the food out on time because most people are on a short lunch break. It's a fairly large space, which is good for groups. We don’t have a fancy interior decorator’s touch. It’s just tables, chairs, and some plants that we try to remember to water. The kitchen is where most of the action happens. It gets hot in there, especially in the afternoons. We aren't part of some big chain. It’s just a local business trying to do things right. We buy our vegetables from the market nearby every morning. Sometimes the fish isn't great at the market, so we just don't put it on the menu that day. We think it’s better to be honest about what we have. It’s just a regular restaurant doing its best in a busy area.
