Pathayam Restaurant

Our place is situated on Ymca Road, right by Statue Junction in Thiruvananthapuram. It’s a very busy part of town because the Secretariat 4th Gate is just nearby. You’ll see a lot of government workers and people with business at the offices coming in for lunch. It gets pretty loud outside with the traffic and the rallies that happen around here sometimes. Inside, we try to keep things a bit more quiet, though it’s hard when the lunch hour hits. We’ve been operating in this area for a long time. The building is older, but it serves its purpose. We focus on a specific kind of cooking that people around here seem to appreciate. It's not the kind of place where you sit for hours; people usually eat and then head back to work or catch a bus. The staff knows most of the regulars who come in every single day. We don’t spend money on big advertisements or fancy lights. Most people find us just by walking past the Statue Junction. The kitchen is always on the go from early morning. We get our vegetables and supplies delivered every day to keep things moving. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the pace of the city center, but we’ve got a good rhythm going now. It’s just a normal restaurant doing its thing in a busy neighborhood. We like it that way.
