Mra Restaurant

Our restaurant is right in the middle of Palayam, which is a busy part of Thiruvananthapuram. We are located in RGS Tower on Kerala University Road. If you are standing opposite the MLA Hostel, you can see us pretty easily. Being so close to the university means we see a lot of students running around with their bags, looking for a quick bite between their classes. It’s a lively spot. The building itself is okay, nothing too modern, but it stays fairly cool inside compared to the street. We spend most of our time in the kitchen or clearing off tables. There is always someone coming in, whether it is an official from the government buildings or just someone passing through Palayam. We don't really do the whole corporate thing with fancy uniforms or scripted greetings. We just talk to people like normal. Sometimes the rain here gets really heavy and the road outside floods a bit, but people still find their way in. We make sure the floors stay as dry as we can. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the lunch crowd because everyone is in a hurry. We just try to keep things simple and honest. The menu hasn't changed much because people seem to like what they usually get. We’ve been here a while and plan to stay. The evening is a bit different when the streetlights come on and the students head home, but we still have people coming in for a meal.
