Kalavara Restaurant

Kalavara Restaurant is located in Jawahar Nagar, in the Kowdiar part of Thiruvananthapuram. We are tucked away behind the Tennis Club, which makes it a bit quieter than being right on the main road. The area has a lot of trees and it’s a nice place to walk around in the evenings. Our restaurant is just a small, local spot where we focus on getting the food out to the tables quickly. We don’t have any modern decor or expensive furniture; it’s just basic tables and chairs for our customers to sit on. The kitchen starts working early in the morning, and you can smell the spices from the street while we cook. We get a mix of people, some who work nearby and some who live in the neighborhood. It’s a very steady routine every day of the week. We spend our time checking the supplies and making sure the floor is wiped down well. Sometimes the Tennis Club has events and we see more people than usual walking by, but mostly it’s just our regulars. We aren't trying to be a five-star place or anything like that. It’s just an honest local eatery where you can sit down and eat a good meal without any pressure. The staff is friendly in a quiet way, and we just do our jobs without much talk or fancy greetings. It’s been our home for a while now, and we like the quiet vibe of Kowdiar.
