Surendra Flour Mill

The mill stays pretty busy from the early morning hours. We are situated in the Dhanlaxmi Complex, which is a local spot in Bhaiya Nagar. Living and working in the Punagam and Varachha area means we see the same neighbors almost every day coming in for their flour. It gets quite dusty inside the building with all the grain being processed, so we are always sweeping up something or another. The machines have a constant hum that you eventually stop noticing after a few hours of work. We aren't a big factory or anything like that, just a local mill where people bring their grain. Sometimes the grain arrives a bit late or the power flickers, but we just wait it out and get back to work when we can. It's a simple kind of life, focused on the basics. We don't have any fancy marketing plans, just the sound of the grinders and the smell of fresh wheat in the air. Most of the folks around here know us by name, and we like it that way. When the sun goes down, we close the shutters and get ready to do it all over again the next day. It’s hard work on the back and the lungs, but it is what we have been doing for a long time now. We just try to keep the bags filled and the customers satisfied.
