We are over at 9 Mira Nagar Society, right across from the Patel Samaj Bhavan near Sardar Chowk. G A Foods(India) Pvt Ltd operates out of this spot on Varachha Road. It’s an interesting location because it is part of a residential society but it’s right near the main road where all the action is. You can hear the motorcycles and rickshaws going by all day long. Our space is basically a converted house, so it has a different feel than a regular office building. We use the different rooms for different parts of the business. One room might be full of bags of ingredients, while another is where we sit with our laptops to do the accounts. It gets pretty crowded when we have a new shipment coming in. The neighbors are mostly used to us being here by now. We have a small porch where some of us sit for a break when the weather is decent. It’s a very local way of doing business. We don't have corporate uniforms or anything; we just show up and get to work. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we have to wait for the generator to kick in. It’s just how things are here in this part of town. We keep it simple and focus on getting the food orders out on time to everyone.
