Shanta G Foods Pvt. Ltd. is situated in Bolav Kim. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here to Sahajanand Industrial Estate, near the Anita post office in Olpad. The address sounds complicated with all the numbers from 230 to 237, but it’s basically just one big space where we handle the food stuff. It’s much quieter out here than in the city, which is something we actually like. There’s a lot of space for the trucks to park and move around. We spend our days making sure the production is moving along as it should. It’s not very glamorous work. There’s a lot of cleaning and checking involved because it’s food. We have a good number of people from the local villages working with us. Sometimes the monsoon makes the roads around here a bit difficult, but we manage to keep things going. We don’t have a big corporate lobby or anyone in suits. It’s mostly just people in aprons or work clothes. We have our own way of doing things that we’ve stuck with over the years. It’s a practical setup, meant for work and not for showing off. The sun sets over the fields nearby, and that’s when we usually start wrapping up for the day. It’s just a solid, honest place to work and we’re happy to be out here in this part of the country. We just keep things moving and focus on the daily output without any fuss.
