Veetu Saapaadu

We are located over at Door No 46/4 - 2 in Meenatchi Nagar. It is right in the TVS Colony area of Hastampatti, Salem. If you know where the Central Jail is, we are just opposite that, and Sindhu Eye Clinic is quite close by too. Veetu Saapaadu basically means home food, and that is what we try to do here every day. It is not a fancy place with bright lights or anything like that. We just have a small kitchen and some tables for people to sit and eat. Most of the people who come here are from around the neighborhood or folks visiting the clinic nearby. We started this because we liked cooking the kind of meals you get at home. Nothing too spicy or oily, just regular rice, sambar, and whatever vegetables are in the market that morning. We wake up early to get things ready before the lunch crowd starts coming in. It gets a bit busy around noon, so sometimes the service is a little slow if we have a lot of orders at once. We don't have a big team, just a few of us working together to keep the place running. It’s a simple setup in a quiet part of Salem. People seem to find us easily enough because of the landmark. We don’t do much advertising. Usually, someone just walks in because they are hungry and want something that doesn't feel like restaurant food. That's how we've been operating for a while now.
