A1 Biriyani Stall

If you walk down Kitchipalayam Main Road, you’ll find us at No 90. We are right near the Geethalaya Theatre, so it’s usually pretty lively around here. A1 Biriyani Stall isn't a big place. It’s just a small stall where we make biryani every day. We start early because the rice and meat take time to get just right. Salem has a lot of food spots, but we’ve been in this corner for a bit now. We don't have fancy seating or air conditioning. Most people just grab their food and head home, or they stand and eat right there. It’s a simple way of doing things. The 636001 area is a good neighborhood for a stall like ours. We see a lot of the same faces every week. It’s nice knowing the people who come to eat our food. We don’t spend money on advertising or anything like that. The smell of the spices usually does the work for us. Sometimes we run out of food earlier than expected, but that’s just how it goes. We try to keep things consistent, but since it's just us cooking, every day is a little different. It’s honest work and we like being part of the street life here. If you’re ever near the theatre, you’ll see us there with the big pots. Just a local stall run by local people who have lived in Salem for years.
