Sri Gayathri Hr Sec School

Sri Gayathri Hr Sec School is located out in Selathampatty, over in the Sithanur area. It’s a bit quieter out here compared to the city schools. We have a decent amount of space around the building, though it’s mostly just open ground that gets dry and brown in the heat. The school building is a simple structure. We’ve added rooms over the years as we needed them, so the layout is a little bit confusing if you’re not used to it. Most of the students come from the local villages, often walking or riding their bikes. We don’t have anything fancy. There are no high-tech gadgets in every room, just teachers who know their subjects and students who want to learn. Sometimes we have to deal with power cuts, and everything just stops for a bit until the lights come back on. The staff room is usually full of papers and half-empty tea cups. We focus on the higher secondary classes mostly, as that’s what the parents are worried about. We want the kids to do well in their public exams so they can find jobs or go to college. It’s hard work, and we aren't always perfect at it. But we’ve been here in Selathampatty for a long time, and we know everyone in the area. It’s just a local school doing its thing. We try to keep the gates painted and the benches repaired when we have the extra cash. It's a modest place but we stay busy.
