Jeeva Puplic School

Our school is located in Savampalayam, which is in the Salem district, 637504. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, which keeps it a little quieter than the city center. The building is a simple one, nothing too grand. We have the name painted on the front, though people often point out the spelling of "Puplic" on our records. It’s just one of those things that happened. We have a small group of teachers and some local staff who help keep the grounds. The area around Salem can get very hot, so we try to keep the classrooms as cool as we can with fans. We have a small playground with some basic equipment for the younger kids. Most of the children come from the families living right here in Savampalayam. We don't have a big office or a reception area like the schools in the big cities. Usually, if a parent wants to talk, they just find us in the hallway or the staff room. We use notebooks for everything and keep our files in old metal cabinets. It’s a very hands-on way of doing things. We don't have any fancy brochures. People just know us because we have been here in the community. Every day is about the same routine of lessons and lunch breaks. We just do our best with the resources we have available to us.
