Om Public School

We’ve been here at Door No 36/1 on Ranga Nagar Road for a while now. Running Om Public School in Salem keeps us busy every single day. Most mornings, the street gets quite crowded with parents dropping off their children. It’s just how it is in Suramangalam. We deal with all sorts of things, from fixing leaky taps in the bathrooms to making sure the kids have enough chalk for the day. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the windows wider to let the breeze in. It isn't always perfect. We have some old desks that probably need a fresh coat of paint soon. Our staff members mostly live nearby, so we know most of the families in this part of town. We don't have fancy elevators or anything like that. It’s just a regular building where kids come to learn their lessons. We spend a lot of time organizing the cupboards and making sure the registers are filled out correctly. The playground isn't the biggest, but the children seem to make it work. Usually, after school ends, the area goes quiet until the next morning. We try to keep things simple here. There’s always a lot of paperwork to get through, but that's part of running a school. We just show up, do the work, and hope the kids get what they need. It’s a lot of responsibility, really, but we've gotten used to the rhythm of life on Ranga Nagar Road over the years.
