Nabarun Palli Shibtala School

Our school is right there on the Chennai Main Road in Thalaivasal. It’s called Nabarun Palli Shibtala School. Being on a main road means there’s a lot of dust and the sound of big trucks passing by all day long. It’s not the quietest place, but you get used to it after a week or two. The kids come in from all over the 636112 area, and some of them travel quite a bit to get here. The building is just a sturdy block of rooms where we do our teaching. We don't have fancy air conditioning or anything, just some old ceiling fans that do their job. Most of the staff has been around for years, so we know how to handle the heat and the noise. Lunchtime is when things get really loud, with everyone eating out of their tiffin boxes and running around the small yard we have. We don't put on any acts for anyone. It's just a regular school where we teach the basics. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to open the windows wider to get some air. We have some old trees on the property that give a bit of shade, which is where everyone likes to hang out during the breaks. It’s just a plain, honest place to go to school in this part of Salem. We don’t need anything more than that to get the job done.
