Nabadwip L P School

Nabadwip L P School is tucked away at No 30/157 F in Palaniappa Nagar. If you know the Suramangalam area in Salem, you know it’s a busy part of town. We are a small lower primary school, so we only deal with the younger kids. It’s a lot of energy in a small space. The 636005 pincode is our home, and most of our students just walk over from the nearby houses. The classrooms are simple, nothing special to look at, just desks and a chalkboard. We spend a lot of time just trying to get the kids to sit still and listen. Some days are harder than others, especially when it rains and everyone has to stay inside. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just us teachers and the kids. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day—bikes going by, people talking on the street. It’s very much a local school. We try to keep the place clean, but with primary schoolers, there’s always a bit of dust or paper on the floor. We just want them to learn to read and write a bit before they move on to the bigger schools. It’s practical work, and we’ve been doing it this way for quite a while now without much fuss. The bell rings at the end of the day and everyone rushes out to find their parents waiting at the gate.
