Montfort Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School

Montfort Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School is located up on Kuppanur Road in Yercaud. Because we are in the hills, the weather is usually a lot cooler than it is down in the plains, which is nice for the students. The road up here is a bit winding and can be tricky when the mist rolls in during the early mornings. Our buildings are made of old stone and have a lot of character, though they take a lot of work to maintain against the dampness of the hill station. We have been here for a long time, and the place has a very settled feeling to it. The students come from all over, and many of them stay on the grounds. We spend our days managing the dining hall, the dormitories, and the classrooms. It is a lot of walking up and down the slopes between the different blocks. We don't use much fancy technology; we prefer the traditional ways of teaching and keeping things in order. The gardens are nice, but they need constant weeding because things grow so fast in this climate. It is a quiet place once the sun goes down, away from the noise of the bigger cities. Most of us who work here enjoy the peace, even if the commute up the hill can be a bit long. It’s a practical school with a lot of stairs and a lot of history in the walls.
