Nirmal Ghyare

My name is Nirmal Ghyare and you can find me at Wagholi Visveswara Puram, right opposite the Wagheshwar Temple. Being across from the temple means there is always something going on. I hear the bells ringing in the morning and see the crowds on festival days. My workspace is simple and honest. I do not have a big staff or a fancy office with air conditioning. It is just a practical place where I get my work done day after day. The dust from the road comes in sometimes, so I am always wiping down the table. I have lived in the Wagholi area for a long time, so I know most of the people who walk past. They stop to say hello or ask how things are going. My work involves a lot of sitting and focusing on small details, which can be tiring for the eyes, but I am used to it now. I keep my tools organized in a small wooden box and there is an old clock on the wall that ticks a bit too loud when it is quiet. I do not spend money on advertising or fancy signs. People just know where I am because I have been at this spot for years. It is a humble way to make a living, but I like being my own boss and seeing the temple every time I step outside for a breath of air. It is my daily routine.
