The Pelican Playhouse

Our place is located in Ar Plaza on 45 Feet Road in Balaji Nagar. If you know the Saram area in Pondicherry, you know it can get pretty busy with scooters and people going about their daily business. We are right there in the middle of it. The playhouse is a space we’ve set up for kids to spend their time. It’s not a massive fancy hall, just a practical setup with rooms for different activities like playing or drawing. We have some toys, books, and art supplies scattered around the rooms. Most days it’s quite noisy with children playing and talking, which is just how it goes. The walls have some drawings on them, and the floors aren't always perfectly clean because kids are constantly moving around and making a mess. We are on a main road, so there is always the sound of traffic outside, but once you are inside, you tend to forget about it after a while. Local parents usually drop their kids off on their way to work or the market nearby. We don't have a huge team, just a few of us who look after things and make sure everyone is doing okay. It’s a very local spot, and we know most of the families who live in the nearby streets of Saram. It feels like a part of the community rather than a big business. We just try to keep things running and give the kids something to do.
