Amnivasam Bar & Restaurant

We are located at 47 Montorsier Street, right inside the Amnivasam Guest House building. Most people find us because they are staying upstairs or they were shopping at Vasanth & Co nearby and got hungry. It is a pretty straightforward place. We have been here for a while now, serving the local crowd and the travelers who pass through Pondicherry. The street outside is always moving and can get quite noisy with all the bikes and people, but once you come in, it is a bit more relaxed. We have got a bar section and a restaurant area. It is not one of those fancy places with modern decorations or anything like that. We just have simple tables and chairs and a menu that has the usual things people like to eat and drink. My brother and I run the daily operations, along with a few staff members who have been with us for years. Sometimes the kitchen gets a little backed up when every table is full on a Saturday night, but we do what we can to keep things moving. We do not do much in terms of marketing or big advertisements. We just rely on people walking by or guests from the house coming down for a meal. It is a practical business for us. We keep the fans running to deal with the Pondicherry humidity and we make sure the place is swept up every morning. It is just a regular spot for a regular meal.
