We’ve been here at No 31 on Vysial Street for a good while now. Most people know the spot because it’s right opposite that Univercel Kids Showroom, which usually has a lot of families going in and out. Our shop, Presse Bureau, isn't anything fancy to look at, but we get the work done. Mostly we deal with printing and papers, the kind of stuff people need daily but don't want to think too much about. It gets pretty hot here in Pondicherry, especially in the afternoons, so we usually have the fan going full speed while we sort through orders. Sometimes the machines act up or the paper delivery is late, but that is just how it goes when you run a small business. People drop by with their files or just to ask about costs. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that. It’s just us here, making sure the prints look okay and the text is readable. Vysial Street has its own rhythm, with the traffic and the local shops all around us. We like being part of this neighborhood. If you are walking past the kids' showroom and look across, you’ll see our door. It’s a practical place for practical needs. We don't do big speeches or fancy ads; we just handle the printing as it comes in. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until we close up for the day.
