You can find us over at No 52 on Kandappa Mudhali Street. We are right in the middle of the Pondicherry Bazaar area, so it is always loud and there is always something happening outside the door. Being in the bazaar means we see a lot of different people every day. Some are looking for a quick ride to the beach and others want to go all the way to Chennai. The office is usually a bit messy with paperwork and tea cups, but we know where everything is. We have a few cars that stay parked nearby, though finding a parking spot in the bazaar is a nightmare most afternoons. We started this travel desk because we knew the area well and saw that people needed an easy way to get around without getting lost. We don't spend money on fancy signs or glossy brochures. Most of our work comes from people walking past after doing their shopping or from the shop owners next door telling their customers about us. It gets really hot in the middle of the day, so we usually have the fan going at full speed while we wait for the next person to walk in. It’s a local operation, run by people who grew up on these streets, and we just keep things moving as best as we can. We try to keep the cars as clean as possible despite all the dust from the market stalls.
