We are located out on the Aurovillie Main Road in Kuilapalayam. The name of the business is Auro Cabs Tours And Travels. If you know the Auroville Bakery, we are very close to that, so it’s easy for people to spot us while they are out for their morning bread or coffee. This area has a different vibe than the center of Pondicherry. It’s a bit more relaxed, though the road can get packed with tourists and bikes. Our office is a small spot where we coordinate all our taxi services. We spend most of the day talking to drivers and making sure they get to their pickups on time. It’s a lot of work on the phone, especially during the peak season when everyone wants to go to the ashram or the beach. We don’t have a big corporate board or anything. It’s just us trying to keep things organized. The dust from the road sometimes comes into the office, but that’s just part of being in Kuilapalayam. We know the shortcuts around the back roads which helps when the main road is blocked. It’s a simple life here. We meet people from all over the world who are visiting Auroville. We don't have a fancy website or a huge team, just a few of us making sure the cabs are running and the passengers are where they need to be. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know how to do best.
