Our small office is tucked away at No 4, on the 3rd Cross Street in Saram. It’s quite close to the Annamalai Hotel in the Rajaiar Thottam area, so most of our drivers know the landmark well. We run a cab service and it’s basically what we do from morning until night. The office isn't anything special, just a place to coordinate the cars and talk to the drivers when they finish their shifts. We get a lot of calls for local drops and sometimes longer trips out of Pondicherry. It can get pretty hectic when three phones ring at once and a driver is late because of the traffic near the junction. We try to keep the logbooks updated and make sure the cars are where they need to be. There's a lot of tea drinking happening here while we wait for the next booking to come in. The neighborhood is mostly quiet compared to the main roads, which is nice. People usually find us through word of mouth or by seeing the cars around town. It’s just us doing our daily work, making sure people get from one place to another without too much trouble. Sometimes the weather makes things hard, like when it rains heavy and the streets get messy, but we keep going. It’s a straightforward business and we don’t use any complicated systems. Just phones and local knowledge.
